O.P. WLM 9.0 gives error 80070057
Hello I was using WLM 9.0 beta up until last night where it started giving me error code 80070057, WLM 8.5 works fine though.
I couldn't find any info in their help files, and customer service refused to give me help because it's a beta, so does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing it?

Unless you are an official tester as quoted from Microsoft, you should not be using WLM 9. This might be their way of saying "Don't use private beta software"
I cannot hear you. There is a banana in my ear.

Tried my account out on another computer, WLM 9.0 works fine so it's something to do with my PC. Anyone have any ideas?

same thing happened to me today. i rolled back to 8.5 and worked great, but when i try to login through 9 it gives me this message.. did you find out anything? you still use 8.5?

Also, remember that if non-beta testers use WLM9 too much, there might be a good chance that beta testing WLM9 will stop for all the official people too. This means that you'll have to wait even longer for a proper official public release!
Deal with it.

Look for 'Windows Live Essentials' in your Add/Remove Programs (Programs & Features on Vista) and then you can uninstall Messenger through that and then go to the website to download it again and re-install it
