I removed my old version of windows live, and deleted any remaining folders from windows messenger.

When I try to log in, the little people spin around for a moment, and it simply returns me to the log-in screen again.

There are no errors, and I tried logging in with a made up name to see if it can connect to the servers, and it does say that the made up name is wrong, so I'm definitely able to connect. Yet when I write my correct ID and pass, it just returns me back to the beginning, without any errors.

Have no firewall, and also accessed the connection test in the options area, and got all green ticks, except for wireless and "IE's offline setting". I don't use wireless.

There's obviously something conflicting with windows live, but I can't figure out what. I have done clean installs three times now, and still...

Does this still happen if you uninstall Messenger Plus! Live?
