I was wondering...how does the sponsor program help Patchou?  What is it that gives him money when you install it?

it installs a search bar on your internet browser and whenmever you use that search/toolbar it hhelps him out

maybe Patchou could tell us how much he earned

I believe it's when you click on the result links of that search...

I remember trying out a similar affiliate program (minus the toolbar). They pay for outgoing links, afaik.

But I could be wrong...

so that means every result link i click on, patchou gets a certain amount of money?
That kinda sucks, since people who are willing to install the sponsor program won't necessarily use the search bar.

Yeah, last i heard it was doing well, so who knows...

It works like any other serious advertisement program (like Google's). I'm not paid by install but per use, like when people do a search with the sponsor's search bar. If somebody installs the sponsor but doesn't "use" it, I don't make a cent and that's why I have no interest installing it on people's computer who don't want it (I wish some people could understand that).

I'm just curious; during install do you explain to people how you make money with the sponsor program?  A lot of people know you have it there to make money, but don't understand how that's possible without something shady going on.    It's been a while since I re-installed so can't remember the layout, and regardless, I've heard the sponsor screen/install was redesigned in Plus! 3.60 (under 9 hours left people! ).  Just have to keep informing/educating people.

See... I'm all for helping Msg Plus!... The only reason I don't download the sponsor is because I would NEVER use it... I google or yahoo anything I need to search so it wouldn't really pay... I think spreading the use of it is all I can do for now!

I think Patchou has informed people a lot of times, unfortunately though, many people chose not to listen to the facts from Patchou himself and got their information from other sources, saying that Messenger Plus! had a trojan etc.

I'm sure that Patchou has endlessly been trying to get the facts to people, but for some reason, they don't listen, and probably will never listen, their trusted sources aren't always correct... Many of these people wouldn't even read it if it was in an installer anyway!!!
