Windows Messenger should still work, it just wont be started automatically, you can start it from the startmenu. If that doesn't work then...
- Download Mesenger Disable and run it.
- Uncheck every option and press "Apply".
- See if you can start Windows Messenger from the startmenu now.
If it doesn't then try this...
- Exit every instance of MSN and Windows mesenger.
- Press <CTRL>-<ALT>-<DEL> to make sure msmsgs.exe, msnmsgr.exe and msgplus.exe are not running anymore.
- Now run Messenger Disable again and check the "Uninstall Windows Messenger" option, press "apply" and reboot your PC at the end.
- After starting back up, visit http://www.windowsupdate.com and install a fresh copy of Windows Messenger from there.
Now about the problem unable to sign in at MSN Messenger with just one account, try this:
- Exit MSN Messenger.
- Press "Start" and select "Run", now enter "C:\Documents and Settings\ and press "OK".
- Doubleclick on your username. If you are not sure with what username you are logged in, press the "Start" button in the lower-left of your screen and see what name it says.
- Doubleclick on "Application Data". If you don't see that folder anywhere, then simply type "\Application Data\ in the adress bar after what is already showed there so you'll get "C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\" and press <ENTER>.
- You should see a few folders with only numbers now.
- Download MSN6 ID, fill in your emailadress which you are having problems with in MSN and press "Work out".
- Now, delete the folder from your PC which has the same number as the one that you just generated.
- Try to login at MSN (you might want to reboot so that MSN and Plus! are automatically started again)
I hope that helps, let us know.
