If you're just trying to get rid of viruses quickly try this:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Its an online virus scan... after everything is clear maybe u can reinstall Norton (i dont quite understand why you said norton wasnt working)

McAfee Virus Scan can be configured for automatic scheduling scans, as well as constant active scanning of all active files and downloads.

Updates are installed every time a new update is released, and downloaded automatically, the update downloads are small in size.

The user AI on McAfee is really great, you can do everything with an easy simple AI, or if you wish you can use complex configuration. You can do the same with both, and simple readouts are available.

Rarely when you execute scripts that alter some programs it will ask you if you are sure you wish to execute the script because it's a little oddly designed, but it's extremely rare if it does this. Out of all the virus scanners I've used it has only ever bothered me about a real virus, no false warnings, and, akaik, has never left a virus run past it.
It also will often detect unknown viruses thanks to advanced detection.
