O.P. Checking POP3 Accounts
Is there a way to check POP3 accounts without having to receive an e-mail?

And would it open in hotmail?

Messenger Plus! can be configured to check your emails through as much as 5 different mail accounts. The Pop3 Email configuration can be found in the Preferences panel, in the Pop3 Email section. It won't open in hotmail unless it is hotmail.

Hm..I know how to configure, but is there a way to check the account without having to receive an e-mail? It says I have one new one, but I don't how how to check it.

What other clients would it open in? Incredimail?

Ok..Incredimail seems to support POP3. The only thing is the message that is supposedly there isn't there.

Anyone know another e-mail client? Is Thunderbird any good?

Any pop3 mail client and any program that checks upon POP3 will check the amount of emails without downloading them...

Can you explain in detail what you actually mean and want and what you did before? Because those questions you ask are very confusing and not related to eachother (in a way) and it appears to me you want to know/do something you're not telling us...

If you mean the following:
- My POP3 program or the program which can report recieved emails says I have recieved a new email
- How can I read the mail?

Then you need to configure your POP3 mailclient so it downloads your mails from the POP3 server, so you can read them.

(Note that Messenger Plus! is not a pop3 mailclient. It is a program which can report the recieved emailcount, but it can't read them. Only a mailclient program can read mails, like Incredimail, Thunderbird, Outlook, etc... etc...)

If you want to know how to properly configure your mailclient then read the helpfiles from the program and/or search with google for tutorials. You also need to know the settings from your POP3 mailservice (aka, which are the servers and ports your pop3 mail service uses).

incredimail, thunderbird, outlook, whatever, all do exact the same. The only difference is how you see it on your screen, aka the graphical interface.

What I meant with Messenger Plus is that it said that I had one e-mail, but yet it showed none when I opened it in Incredimail.

Incredimails interface bothers me, so I'll just get Thunderbird.

EDIT: Grr..Thunderbird won't accept my password..EDIT2: Scratch that..

EDIT3: My problem is solved, Thunderbird found it, plus I'll just check on this. Though it keeps prompting me for my password, and it takes three times for it to accept it.
