ok to make a long story short what is a good program to open video files such as .avi, .mpeg, etc
i have sony vegas 4 and it says i need a certain plugin but it doesnt say what plugin

so is there a program that can open those files without needing a plugin to be downloaded separately?

Media Player Classic, and that doesn't mean use the old media player but that's the players name, usually this player comes with codec packs.

i meant like to open it in like a program you can edit with..like adobe premiere WMM..
