Just installed Live Mess 8.0 but dont see any smilies that are sent to me only the shortcuts. Have i been dumb and missed a setting somewhere or do i need to try install again??

Tools>Show emoticons, then get them to send you some more emoticons and they should work.

Nope doesnt work - this is frustrating. IMHO the best feature of MSN is the wide selection of smiles.

Make sure these options are ticked in Tools > Options > Messages:

If you still can't resolve it, try reinstalling Windows Live Messenger.

Yeah those are checked - custom ones work fine but its the others I want - ill try reinstalling
