O.P. Remote Scan
Now, I know at first this is going to sound quite strange (because you are going to have to physically be at the scanner to scan something), but does anyone know of a piece of software I can install onto my server [connected to the All-In-One device] which can be easily accessed by corresponding client software and allow me to scan documents to a network location?

Network Diagram:

Scanner + Printer <----> Windows Server 2008 <-- Wireless --> Windows XP

I want the Windows XP machine to be able to retrieve the scanned document. Basically the Windows Server 2008 is a very expensive laptop which was dropped and now has a dead screen which would cost £300 to replace - instead I'm not going to buy any server hardware.

I can remote desktop in to the machine and do it, however, the end users aren't this tech saavy.

TIA.

It's pretty much your only option, though you could remote desktop into the server and scan there.

Good enough.

I'll elaborate a little though, We tested a ton of different programs for exactly this purpose. Remote scan was the only one that really worked.

i also read that certain drivers for certain scanners support lan scanning but unless u already hve one that does or the update adds this functionality it's cheaper to use remote scan
