Still waiting for Hotmail to get IMAP, then maybe I'll start checking it out.

Still using WebDav to connect to hotmail.

Won't switch unless they have IMAP

This link has some pretty good information as well.  You need to make sure that you specify the correct port.

I now have my sister's email set up so that emails going to her old Hotmail account get POPed into her Google Apps mail account for use with IMAP. Works perfectly.
