Messenger Plus! Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger

when you run Windows Live Messenger, Messenger Plus! Live also runs to give you special options like tabbed chatting and coloured names.

Did you install Messenger Plus! Live from here?

If so, then please read the following thread:

Messenger Plus! Live Disappears after restart

Hello djdannyp- thank you for the quick respond.
Yes I downloaded and installed the latest version from the link you posted here. I also have the latest messenger live version running.

I checked the programs which may cause problems. None of those you have listed are installed on my system.

Problem now:

Two messenger icons are shown in my task bar. Both have the name Windows Messenger. When I click on the right icon the Messenger Plus! starts and I get a pop-up screen message

>>"I have been disconnected from .NET messenger service because ...."<<

The Messenger Plus! is running but all my contacts arent listed

Restart your computer and then try opening Windows Live Messenger and seeing if it loads properly

Too bad I think its really a bug

Both programs loads properly after clicking the icons. Windows Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. But the Windows Live Messenger doesn't show my contacts. Do I need to add them all again? It seems to be a total different Messenger not only a add-on-plugin because I also get diconnected from .NET Messenger Service and I have 2 program icons in my task bar.

Windows Messenger and Windows Live Messenger ARE two different programs

You can't sign into both....you only need Windows Live Messenger.

You're getting confused:

Windows Live Messenger is the latest Messenger program developed by Microsoft

Windows Messenger is an old version of Messenger developed by Microsoft

Messenger Plus! Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger developed by Patchou, which is what this forum is about.

Just open Windows Live Messenger and sign into that, forget about Windows Messenger
