i've noticed it a couple of times that when a contact signs in to messenger that ''msn messenger'' will let me know that a contact has signed into messenger but ''msgplus'' does it to is there an explanation fore it

Yes you have enabled the notifications of the contacts.,,It does the same...

Plus>Preferences> Notifications> Popup Defaults> Enable messenger plus! notifications when a contact signs in....


Uncheck it... hope this helps

okay but now i only want to enable the msn messenger sign in notification

It is enabled by default? All you did was take the msgplus one off not the msn one..

but it is not with every contact and it doesnt happin every time

I don't really get it, if you're talking about Plus! toasters they can pop up for two reaosns:

1) you chose the option "alert when they sign in"
to change this go to : Plus>Preferences> Notifications> Popup Defaults> Enable messenger plus! notifications when a contact signs in as Sean said

2) you've set to THAT SPECIFIC CONTACT to show when he changes his status to Online
to change this right click the contact, choose Messenger Plus! options and then click on notifications

well ive checked both and ive solved the problem no thnx both of you for your support
