is there a way to change the sound when i get an email alert....?

I have managed to figure out how to change to sounds for the signin and signouts....and i downloaded differernt sound plugins...

but they still dont show up in the plugins section in the MsgPlus menu....if anyone knows how to make the plugins show up...that would be great too!!

Thanks

RE: email alert
What plugin are you trying to install?

You don't need any plugin to change the new e-mail notification sound. In Messenger, go to Tools > Options > General > Sounds. Go to the Sounds tab and locate Messenger in the list, you can change the sounds from there.

I tried to follow your instructions...when I get to the general tab...there is no sound tab...? The closest I see is a section for Alerts...where there is an option to play a sound(which I can pick) for when people come online. I want to be able to choose the type of sound that is played for an email alert...

Is that clearer?

Thanks

"Sounds" is a button in the General tab. It opens your audio devices properties from where you can set which sounds to play for MSN Messenger events. You can also open to the audio devices properties window from the Control Panel > Sound and audio devices. And also by going to Start > Run, writing "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL mmsys.cpl" (without quotes) and clicking OK.

My Windows is in Spanish, so that's an approximate translation.
