Have you tried uninstalling MSN Messenger and then reinstalling it? Do you use any patches on MSN Messenger? Like Skins, extra games and polygamy...
Also please could you tell us your version of Messenger and Operating system (most likely your version of windows)...

It sounds like something is conflicting with it. What plug-ins are you using? What Msn, Plus! and Windows Messenger Version do you have. Also what OS are you using (operating system.)

An operating system is like windows, its the program(s) that controls the runing of the computer, and the base for other programs to run off. So in short what version of windows are you using? (i.e. 98, ME, XP)

RE: dissapearing messenger
1. Does this happen without colornick aswell (to disable: plus > preferences > plugins..untick the box infront of the plugin)?
2. And without Plus! running?
3. How many programs do you have running alongside when it happens?
4. How much RAM does your computer have (i'm suspecting a memoryshortage)?

RE: dissapearing messenger
It happened to me too, a few months ago. Then it stopped when I started using Mozilla Firefox as a browser (maybe it has nothing to do with it, as Internet Explorer remains).

However, when I had this problem, to keep MSN Messenger open, I left the main window open or a conversation window open (even if I didn't chat with that person).

I still don't know what caused this. It could be Internet Explorer, as it's somehow linked to MSN Messenger (ie. you must have "Working online" enabled in order for MSN Messenger to work, so there).

But I'm not sure, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

Hack, hack, hack!
