what in powerpoint???? im not sure what you are trying to do but it sounds strange. um in answer to your question a macro could do that just try it and see what you can do with a macro it might work! :)

Yeah i know that bit, i dunno what to type in as the Macro though... :(

I am trying to add a place where it says "enter your name" and then it can say something like "hi <name>"

um well with a macro you should be able to make it so it starts when the other person types the name and presses enter and then you just have to cut and paste it or whatever. i dont think you can do this kind of thing in powerpoint sorry.
