Hey, where do each of these things save to on the computer, like what is the directory...thanx...

Average display pics don't save on the computer but if you download Stuffplug NG then you can use the dp stealer to save dp's to your computer

Winks and dynamic dp .dat files are located in

My computer > Local disk > [insert username here] > Application data > Microsoft

C:\Documents and Settings\<user account>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\<MSN Number*>

Normal DPs: /Usertile
DDPs: /DeluxeDisplayPictures
Winks: /Winks3
Custom Emos: /CustomEmoticons
Backgrounds: /Backgrounds

Rename background, dp and ce *.dat files to *.png to view them, I'm not quite sure of the Winks and DDP format, i believe it's flash though.

Winks are definately Flash (I remember from the 205 beta). DDPs probably are too, but don't quote me on that.

Thanx, Ummm, what could i use (if anything) to preview Winks and DDP's?

i use winrar to open the dat files,  they have a xml file, a flash image and a png preview image.

So are the .dat files ZIPs, RARs or CABs?
