ok so i'm a bit dull when it comes to computers, i had a look but its quicker for me to ask for help and i'm probably not the only one. i got msn, messenger 7.5 i try to download messenger plus and it works for a spell then reverts back to 7.5. so what am i doin wrong?

What do you mean it "reverts back to 7.5"? Do you mean that Plus! will stop working leaving you with just MSN Messenger?
