Can't see display names!

O.P. Undecided  Can't see display names!
When I talk to people I only see their emails and not their display names and I only see my display name when I am on the messenger screen but everyone else has their emails instead. What is wrong?:(

Contacts > View contacts by > it's probely selected as 'e-mail address'. Change it to 'Display name'.

Also, make sure 'Show display pictures from others' is ticked (below).
