Why does IE Hotmail load slowly after clicking mail button?

I have a high performance box but when I click the mail button and IE starts to open it takes a tad long to open the Hotmail page.

Not long long, just an annoying 8 second pause. Shouldn't it be instant?

This happens wether or not I'm using MSN 7 or WLM.

It takes time to connect to servers, loading pages, loading applets, tec... it is quite normal.
