Hello guys,

I've searched this forum already and didn't come across anything even similar to what I'm encountering the past couple days. I am using Windows Live Messenger 8.1 (Build 8.1.0178.00) and Messenger Live Plus 4.21.0.270 together and what happens is that none of my chat screens are coming up to my screen, everything goes to the taskbar, I am receiving the messages but I can't maximize/restore the chat windows so I could see/reply them   This happened after a recent format and I couldn't find anything on google so far...

My O/S is Windows XP PRO SP2 and already packed up with all the recent Microsoft Updates. I am using McAfee 8.5i as a virus guard and Windows Firewall for firewall application...

If anyone could help me it would be greatly apreciated, otherwise I am about to  go crazy

Do you have tabbed chats enabled? If so, disable it, and report back if this solves the problem...

Contactlist > Preferences > Conversations > Tabbed Chats > Group all my chats in a single tabbed window.

Also try to reinstall Messenger Plus! Live.

Thanks for the tip, but I've already tried disabling tabbed chats and reinstalling MSN PLUS...I've even reinstalled MSN itself...Nothing has changed

When you uninstall Messenger Plus!, does it stil lhappen then?

Yes it did, I've tried every possible combination.......Except reformat.

So, you confirm that it is a Messenger problem and nothing todo with Messenger Plus!. In that case I would suggest to report it to Microsoft: http://support.live.com/eform.aspx?productKey=wlmessenger
