i noticed that if you share photos with someone the images first have to send to them, so i was wondering where do the photos get saved to?

Files sent to you are saved in

My Documents > My Received Files

If you receive a photo via the sharing things and you save it, It's in your Pictures folder. (this is only if you save it)!

i didnt have enough time to hit save, but the files still send so shouldn't it be somewhere?

The full copy of the file doesn't get transferred (hence the transfer when you press "Save")....just a temporary preview gets transferred, it probably doesn't get saved anywhere, if it does it'll only be in Temporary Files or Temporary Internet Files, but will only be a low resulotion small file.
