My WLM2011 was working properly till yesterday, when I switched my router to Netgear DGN2200.
Everything is working fine, but WLM is not loading Display Pictures of my contacts anymore.

I don't know why it's doing this, because I have reopened all the ports that I had opened on my previous router, NAT is set to Open (for my Xbox mainly) and UPNP is active and working.

I also tried to clear MSNCache in %Temp% folder but it didn't fix the problem, and to open manually the ports opened by UPNP.

WLM2011 is the latest version (15.4.3502.922), with MSGPlus 4.90.0.392 and A Patch (the latest one). OS is Windows 7 32bit and msnmsgr.exe is set in Vista compatibility to have it on the taskabar when closed.

Anyone know how to help me?

Fix: Downgrade to WLM 2009.

Thanks but this didn't fix the problem.
Btw I can add an additional information: with one of my contacts (just one) everything is working properly, I can see her avatar and I see it change when she change it.

I dunno why tho, we are on two different connection (different ISP too) and she is using 2009.

I think the issue is that 2011 is in beta

A whole year and a half later I encounter the same problem.
I recently moved my computer and needed a wireless adapter for my computer. (Netgear N600)

Its pretty lame seeing a grey dude as other peoples profile pictures, however I can see some and I've noticed that they are using messenger from their phones.

It is clearly only for aesthetics and it may seem sad that I have resorted to leaving facebook on in the background to make it look less dull. (Maybe I should resort to facebook chat entirely)

Had the same problem. I fixed it like this: (Im not using the english version so I cant know the exact wordings)
I went to Tools -> Options -> Privacy, and checked the box that read "do not save my contact list on this computer" (or something like that). Restarted the WLM and the pictures where back. I hope this helps.
