O.P. A way to get a copy of the forums?
Personally I feel like this place is going to disappear eventually.

Having said that I spent quite a large portion of time here growing up, given by my post count.

I would like to remember those posts so I can look back on the people who I've helped, the people who have helped me and the friends  I've made.

Is there a way an admin can setup a way to export threads I've posted in. Or atleast provide some SQL dump of the forum threads?

Thanks,
Sam

Would they not have pruned a lot of the old threads?

I believe post count decreases with pruned threads. So in my case I have 5089 posts that are not pruned.

The main goal is to keep the forum around as long as possible, so everyone can access it. This might eventually in a different place. But as long as the original thread content is there and the old URLs redirect I consider that a better option than a few people with a .SQL/.CSV file.

You are right though, nothing on the internet truly lives forever. I like the kind of data liberation tools Google, Twitter and alike offer. But TBH currently I have a massive todo list (unrelated to msghelp/msgplus). I don't see me working on a export function for a "what if" scenario right now. I do have full backups. Should something unexpected happen there are plenty ways to reach me outside of msghelp ( http://menthix.net/contact/ | https://twitter.com/Menthix | https://www.facebook.com/Menthix ). Worst case scenario I can provide a .sql then. Obviously would have to filter out private things as email/IP/PM and such and make sure private forums stay private.

No prunning has been done in a long time btw, except for T&T... and even there it hasn't been done for a long time since not much is posted anyway.
Finish the problem

What about the hardware, who's maintaining/paying for that nowadays that C2 is out of the picture?
Based on a traceroute, looks like its co-located in Fremont CA by Hurricane Electric?

MenthiX: Fair enough, as long as at some point I'll be able to contact someone regarding it. There's two other major forums that have disappeared and I never got my posts from there. So I'd like to be able to look back on it years from now.

Yuna is. The backups are offsite though.
