I have a contact with interfree email and it appears to me offline even if it is online.  A my friend which doesn't have Messenger Plus installed sees correctly it.

he might have blocked you
or maybe he does't have you on his list and has the "block ppl not in my list" option enabled

i think those are the only logical problems

i'd suggest you to delete him from your account and add him again

or maybe u didnt type the email address correctly... check ur spelling too

neway deleting re adding would help.... and it'd be better if HE adds YOU

PS: When I add a new contact, the nick isn't displayed until I restart MSN.  It can be resolved?

no, they have to add you first, inorder for there nickname to be changed.  Unless they add you first, there nickname will show up.  If you add them, it will show as just the e-mail addy.

actually you won't see their nick untill you both are online at the same time....

the person who has been added will see the nick even if both haven't been online together though

I explain better.

I and the other person are both on-line.  I add its nick to the contacts and see only the email (and not its nick) until I restart MSN Messenger 6.
