O.P. Fake Closed Window
Are there any programs out there that will allow you to send a fake closed window notification to the other person (regardless of what program they are using to notify them) while leaving the connection open?

I doubt it, since the message send to notify the contact that the window is closed, also closes the connection between you. This is how the protocol works.

Yeh I know it picks up that message, I was hoping you could send a slightly modified message that would be recognised by the notifier but disregarded by msn. What if it was just confined to work with Stuff plug ng's notifier.

For that both contacts (you and your friend) need to have SPNG installed, defeating the whole purpose of the function...

Why would I ask for one specific to SPNG if i didn't plan to use it on people using SPNG...

ha! with my greatness i found a replacement :p  so, i made my custom emoticon this > [Image: left.bmp] < and then i changed my nick to blank using /nick2 alt-0160 (ctrl-k character)0 [maybe not needed]

then i send:

the odd characters behind things are ctrl-o [go back to original format] and it works, BUT, to make it useful, you should use spng, and have bigger emoticons, you keep the man the same size, but you allow some blamk parts to the top and bottom (notice how mine werent exactly equal)

I know making your name blank is a pain, and if they're smart they might know, but heh, its worth a try ;)

marissa, thank you.

Yeh the whole point of it was, I gave spng to someone so I know they have the closed window notifier and they know I have it too, and sometimes when I talk they don't respond but unlike a normal person, they know I have the notifier so they will wait until they get a connection closed message before they close the window. This way they think I have left so if they are there they would almost certainly close the window.
