i dont know why but i cant install Messenger Plus..im using windows 98 and msn messenger version 6.2
it tells me:
Messenger Plus! Setup - I/O Error
Access on disk is denied or the setup package is corrupted.
Here are common ways to solve this problem:
*Log-on iwth administrator privileges
*Install in a different directory
*Restart your computer
*Download the setup package from a different source

none of these things worked.
help mee!

what version of msn are you using, and what version of plus are you installing?

Well, you can try to clear your cache, and delete the existing installation file that you have, and download once again...

just do like it says and log onto windows as administrator then install it

It's doing the same thing for me, and like the previous person.  I tried all the mentioned things and nothing worked.  Any suggestions before I try to just clear everything and redo it?

Edit:  Bah, forgot to add that I"m running windows XP and MSN 6.2.  Also, let me add that I"ve been using MSN plus since September, and it just today gave me this error when my MSN 6.2 booted up without MSN plus on it.  When I tried to run to setup to get it back on my MSN, it gave me that error.

Solution is very simple if you have Win XP. It was running fine you say..then today all of a sudden that error..so why not do a sysrestore to where it was still working?

*grin* yes, but for some reason I hate doing system restores.   But thanks, I hadn't even thought of that.  It will still bug me that I took the cheap way out and did a restore .

Well, the system restore failed me.  But.  I have wonderful news.  I figured out what was plaguing it I believe.

I used my bullguard to run a scan on my computer, and it turned out that:
MsgPlusSetupFile-B.tmp was infected with a trojan, as soon as I took care of that, it booted right up.  So that's what seemed to be the problem.  The date that file was last modified is the exact same date that the problems started to occur.  Mecolai  if you're still having this problem from so long ago, I would give the method above a shot.  Thanks everyone for your help.

did the trojan get into the file or come with it, coz msgplus dont have trojans

All's possible Violet, virusses get into everything. It can infect files later on or it could have been a corrupted download from somewhere else than msgplus.net (if it's like that from the start).
