Yahoo claims that with the latest Yahoo Messenger you can leave a voice message to an offline contact, or even when that contact is online. I went thru all options in the menu but can't find the way to do it. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Seriously though, I doubt many people would know. Your best bet is to find a YIM forum somewhere, or Google.

Voicemail. If you're offline or away from the computer, your friends can leave you voicemail. You'll see a star by the voicemail icon in your Messenger List. Click the voicemail icon, select the message, and press Play to hear your voicemail.

Zaher, I can't see the voicemail icon that you are indicating,not in the main screen nor in the convo window. I do have the latest Yahoo messenger installed. Any hint??

try reinstalling it

yes ! maybe u have upgraded the old version, so try unistalling , a total one, with registy clean also!! and then reinstall the latest version

Zaher, I AM able to check voice messages in the answering machine from my contacts, but how do I leave a voice message in their answering machine???? That's the whole issue that I am unable to solve.

Well to leave a voice message for them, you should call them using yahoo messenger ! and they should be using the same latest version, and if they are not there, the messenger will ask u to leave a voice message.


so in ur main window, click on call , the Blue Phone on the top of your list,
a box will apear asking u to select whom ur calling , select it, then it will start ringing, after few rings, an auto responder will respond asking u to leave a message.


The easiest way to make a call is to roll your mouse over a name on your Messenger List. After that person's Contact Card pops up, click the phone icon. When your contact answers, talk away! if not leave a message.

Thanks Zaher, it seems I was impatient before and I hung up before the answering machine would answer the call. Everything seems to work fine now.
