Hey. Here's the problems I'm having with Facebook/Messenger:

• Only 34 out of 300 Facebook friends have synced to the Messenger contacts list.
  
• No Facebook updates show on the social stream.

I've tried removing the Facebook connectivity and re-adding to no avail.

The correct options are checked in the Services settings.

When a non-synced contact talks to me on Facebook chat, on Messenger it shows as "Someone on Facebook". The yellow information bar says "We can't display your friend's name because their contact details are not been synced yet" however I have waited weeks.

It's been like this since I tried the beta, months back.

Any ideas?

Hmm... sounds like an issue for the Support team...
PS: I suppose you already tried removing those contacts, waiting a week, and re-adding them?

Not sure what you mean? You can't delete Facebook friends in Messenger, you'd have to delete them from Facebook.

Yeah, that's what I meant: remove them from FB.

If you don't want to do that I suppose you can also first try to disconnect the facebook service from Messenger, then wait a while (until that syncing is done, eg: a few days to a week), and re-add the Facebook connection again.

I've installed WLM 2011 on my netbook and all Facebook friends have synced fine, so I don't understand why it won't work on my PC.

I tried removing the service, deleting Messenger cache files and (temporarily) the ObjectStore folder, then re-adding the service, to no avail.

I would like to know if you ever found a solution to this problem? I'm having much of the same except i only have 8 out of 350+ FB friends showing in messenger.
I've tried all of the above, but it seems wherever i sign in it's always the same. It worked fine for me with the beta, but since upgrading to the final release it's been doing this

omg i am having the same exact problem!!
mine happened after facebook told me that there has been some weird activities going on with my account so i need to change my password and i did but now windows won't connect properly with facebook, u no..the same problem u r facing...have u found a solution yet? if u have will u  please let me know??please??
