O.P. Suggest an .XML reader?
Hey, newbie here.

I've been looking for a (free) .xml reader that will allow me to view my saved conversation histories sans the codey babble of the raw file, and (possibly) conduct word searches.

I'm currently running Windows 7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks.

Messenger Plus! log files are saved as either HTML or TXT files. Windows Live Messenger should have an XML template that formats it when you open it in Internet Explorer.

I run Windows Live Messenger, but I've never installed Internet Explorer on this PC. I use Chrome, which hasn't allowed me to view XML in the past. I'll have a look to see whether there's any suitable apps or extensions.

Mta: No luck with Chrome, but I was able to view the .XML files with Opera.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Internet Explorer is always preinstalled with Windows (not always the latest version though). If it wasn't then many components of Windows wont work.

If that's the case then I've probably deleted it and tossed all memory of it into Mount Doom. Apart from the .xml issue, now solved, I haven't had any problems subsequent to getting rid of it.

You can't remove it, it is built into the OS.
