You mean 8 days later... I do not have an answer for you as skinning is not my forte however possibly bumping someone may know the answer.

Hi, first of here are a couple of quick questions that once answered might prompt a quicker response to your problem

What version of Windows Live Messenger are you running?
What Messenger Plus! version are you using?
What skin in particular are you using as well?
Does this happen with any other skins?

I have messenger 2011 15.4.3555.308 and Plus! 5.11.0.760 with the SWITCH skin from Willz.

So just to make sure i understand correctly:
1. Would you like to skin or get rid of that white bar shown above in your screenshot?
2. Are you missing an UI element on the top bar?

Ok the "????" is :

Where is located and coded this white-bar-with-gradient element ? I'd like to make its color consistent with the colors of all other elements.

I could manage to get to the code lines that give the color just above this bar, but now I'm stuck with this one...
(btw thanks to the plus! skin tool to point to .txt and element ids!!)

I can even make a color map of the elements I've changed if someone think it's useful    (yes I know, my screenshot is ugly )

Ok now i see what the issue is

I did a quick check-up on Willz skin, and for what i can see that element to which you are referring is not skinnable, meaning you can't colorize it or get rid of it.

I know Willz is pretty delicate when it comes to people modifying his skins so what i would suggest you do, is to contact the skin-master himself if you have questions about how his skin works or if you wanna make modifications to it.

Either way sorry we couldn't be of much assistance here but in this cases i think the skinner himself could point you out to the better solution.
