O.P. Personalised Status and password protected screensaver
I've been browsing the support forums to try and find the answer to a problem which has been perplexing me.  I want to use personalised status to send people a response message if I am away from my desk, and have tried to use the "change status after period of inactivity" to switch to a personalised status.

The problem is that as I use a password protected screensaver this does not work, and if I have understood other posts correctly the issue as that when Windows is locked messenger does buffers rather than processing messages and so MP! is not able to send the auto reply message.

Have I understood this correctly?

If so, I need to keep the lock on the machine to comply with corporate rules, so do you have any other suggestions for achieving auto-reply when locked?

Thanks

that's right, but as long as I know that happens when windows is locked not when you have a screen saver (with ot without password).

lock machine <-vs-> use a password for a screen saver
* Choli is confussed

Anyway, if messenger buffers the messages then Plus isn't notified that someone sent a message and then if doen't know it has to send the auto message. You can't do anything.

so what you mean when you say you have a screen saver with a password is that when you move the mouse while the screen saver is active, Windows shows the welcome screen (where you can choose a user a enter the password).

Ok, In that case, while the screen saver is enabled, Plus should send the auto message. However, when the welcome screen is shown, the thing about buffering messages happens and Plus doesn't send them.

Thanks for the response, and that is what I expected.

If I get the personalised status to kick in 1 minute before the screensaver then in the event log I see personalised status start and then 1 minute later I am put online again.

[15:28:37] (current user) - Personalised Status mode has been enabled
[15:28:37] (current user) - Your status has been changed to: Away
[15:29:31] (current user) - Personalised Status mode has been disabled
[15:29:31] (current user) - Your status has been changed to: Online
[15:44:26] (current user) - You have been flagged as being idle
[15:44:30] (current user) - Your status has been changed to: Online

If "on resume password protect" is not checked on screen saver, all seems to work OK.
