This bug started happening after I used 7 BETA for a while then uninstalled that and went back to 6.2

When I use custom names, the custom names show up fine in the contact list but when I speak to someone in a conversation it shows their email address before "says:" (I want it to show their signin name and not my custom name in conversatons).  I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling everthing etc., but to no avail help!

Yes I did.

I jjust fixed it though by disabling timestamps in stuffplug-NG which was obviously causing the problem. 
  However, timestamps are another very useful feature I like to use so would it be possible to tweak something to make custom names and timestamps compatible?

Adding to this, if a person isn't on your contact list, you also get the e-mail address instead of the display name.
