O.P. Dual Screen view on pc and fullscreen wmp?
well you can play video files on wmp in full screen....but when i do this with both of my screens it splits the video down the middle and plays half on each screen.

is there a way to play wmp fullscreen on one screen and still do what i want on the other?

thanks!

depends on your setup..the way i have it setup with my graphics card and ultramon i can maximise mediaplayer or powerdvd to one monitor and do whatever on the other. i just click the maximise button.

it may be the drivers or something for your video card. i'm not sure what your problem is without looking at it. sorry.

depending on your graphic card.. i dunno. but, yeah i think this happens if the video mirroring property thing of your video card is enabled...
try this go to display properties > advanced > u'r card and check the settings and stuff.. disable the mirroring function

edit: actually after thinking about it.. there should be many settings to choose from. i'm not sure anymore if disabling mirroring will help :-/

.. hopefully it will.

Edit: btw to use u'r second monitor (while playing a game FULL-SCREEN on the other) you have to switch away from the game (minimize it etc.) otherwise i doubt you will be able to enter and work with other applications on the other screen.
but i'm only assuming that.

I have the same behaviour, and I don't remember having to do anything to make it work like that. It's probably a driver settings thing, try playing with that.

I actually want to get this effect of dual-full-screen sometimes instead of the single screen full screen. Cool for making use of both screens to achieve a pseudo wide screen effect for movies and other stuff.

Just dont use WMP
That happens to me with WMP (Mind you thats when im not using Ultramon)
When im not using ultramon (I never use wmp) I use Nero Showtime, that maximizes it to the one screen only.

This is nothing to do with WMP what-so-ever..... It is the video settings that are not good for the setup he wants. Every video driver and video card combination has its own settings. And each settings has subsettings, etc... Just play around with your settings and try to set things as logic as possible (this requires knowing what each setting in your driver means!).

For starters, set your video driver to dual mode, not clone mode, nor widescreen mode....

After that it depends on your video overlay settings, how thet are set up. It is possible that you view a video on monitor 1 in a small window, but automatically full screen on your second monitor. This is done by video overlaying. Of course this can be disabled or tweak as you like.

Then there are so called hardware settings, highly dependable on your graphics cards and installed drivers. Some cards can do proper video overlaying in dual mode. Other can't do proper video overlaying in clone mode, etc... etc...

scone dont just say "dont use WMP" it isnt helpful at all. he obviously wants to use WMP and so wants the problem fixed not some way around that by his explanation wont even fix it. make sure you have the newest drivers for your card (what is your card by the way) and make sure one is set as secondary and not to share
