O.P. Startup Causes Serious Lag in Games.
Alas I have had to uninstal MSGplus for the time being because the startup protocol causes significant lag issues in a game called Guild Wars. Is there any way to prevent auto-startup of Plus, and set it to only activate when MSN is started?

Thankyou for your time, and sorry if I missed something in my search for help before posting.

Yes, there is. It's called "alternate mode":

- Plus > preferences > miscellaneous..under Messenger Plus! Automatic Recovery Options, set it to "Alternate".
- Reboot
- Start MSNM and check if it's still in alternate mode
- Ctrl alt del to go to taskmanager and in processeslist end msgplus.exe
- Now restart MSNM and see if Plus! appears in the menu, if so "alternate mode" is working fine.
- After checking you can remove Plus! from startuplist by going to: start > run ..type: msconfig <enter>, go to startuplist and uncheck MsgPlus.

Edit: thank you and you're welcome. If set to this mode Plus! will be started together with MSNM :D
