if u r using 5.xx then u can use universal controller to control ur music play.. by universal controller, u can play, pause , stop, fwd, rwd, next song, previous song etc can be done without opening ur winamp window.. this could be done with combination of keyboard key...

Ctrl+P and u will see a preferences window then go in
Global Hotkeys then make a tick on

if u r unable to seee global hotkeys panel, then download the latest
Winamp program and start the installer then in the
choose component panel (in the installer) open the
user interface components then make a tick on
global hotkeys support .... (the other compponents depends on ur usage and ur need..) then complete the installation and start playing with global hotkey. if still it dont work, then follow the insrtuction given above.. and if u find any problem then post ur problem...
