RE: Sug: Reputation Notification
It's wierd that i was thinking about posting this just yesterday, but i was too tired to stay online.
I think it's a good idea though by PM.

RE: Sug: Reputation Notification
well think of it this way, what if you are really popular like Patchou, then what you are going to have is a massive flood of PM's that will clog your inbox, not to mention the extra load it would put on the already huge sql db maintained on the server. Ofcourse there is always the option to have a radio button placed in the UserCp to enable/disable this, but we have to consider the load on the db on a silly little feature that is there so that one can reflect upon their behaviour on the forums.
i suggest checking your rep regularly, if you are that obsessed.

True, but MadMan, i think has the best solution, and you can turn it on/off etc

RE: Sug: Reputation Notification
OHH IDEA! haha... Very good one in my opinion... How about like... a weekly or bi-weekly progress report... Saying: This is how many rep points you earned, from who, and their comments... Or something of the sort... I think that one is a hell of an idea ...
Or I suppose it could be monthly... I guess it all depends on how often you want to get notified .
EDIT: Yet again I don't bother reading what I missed out while away from the computer... haha... I completely agree with madmans idea.... Blows mine away

Is there any chance this will happen?
Will have to wait for confirmation from an Admin.

OFF TOPIC: Who has the highest rep? Is it Patchou?
as far as I know, he does.
Also If it was a PM, you'd have to have the option to receive them on.

I would like it, but i'm not sure about it being as a Private Message.
Any other suggestions Tashy?
How about instead we have it make a new thread in T&T stating who gave the rep, why, and a little place for some people to

RE: Sug: Reputation Notification
again, like i said, its an unnecessary load on the database. even madman's suggestion needs at the least an extra query to output that info and that puts unnecessary load on the server.
plus its a waste of WDZ's talent and time.

thats going to create a lot junk in the database.
I think im repeating myself, but I cannot stress it enough and I'm sure the users who are here since about 2 years on these forums agree with me that we dont want to stress these servers in any way possible (im talking about those realli annoying rejection redirects that everyone got when there were a lot of users on the forums).
note to Regexp: sorry if im sounding mean or rude. It's not my intention.

RE: Sug: Reputation Notification
Ok, ipab, we get the point.
I thought we were being hosted by C2Media and didn't have server problems anymore...
Edit: btw, there is no need to add an extra table or anything to do this. Just compare today with the lastest reputation given. You can add a cookie, but you can also let it be daily.
I'm talking about Madman's idea, which is the best.
