i was wondering you know how msn has contact groups i was wondering if someone (patchou) could write a script that if a contact group had contact online that it would automaticly expand and if it didnt have any contact they would close thank ui

Alright, this isn't quite answering your question but why not just make an "offline" group. This way if a group has anyone in it then you automatically know they're online

Or simply look at the numbers next to them... like 5/45 means 5 people online 45 people total... why can't you expand it manually?

this is what i do already all i want is when a contact comes online there group extends to show there online and once there offline the group retracts this is more just a visual enhancment.

Hmmm i guess i understand what you want... i was thinking more of like what i was doing where i keep all the groups closed unless i want to know who's on then close it back...

Not sure about doing this plugin-wise though you'll have to wait for someone else for an answer in that direction.

So you have already grouped offline contacts? When you close the offline group (click on the arrows in front of it), would that not be what you want? If not, could you please elaborate?

why not forget about groups altogether, and just display online/offline contacts? (just like good ole messenger 5 and earlier)

personally, i just find the contact groups thing annoying.

Or like what Tochjo was getting at... Group offline contacts together... and group your mobile together... And just leave the groups open or whatever, so that if somebody was online they'd show... and then everybody that's offline would be in the offline group.

1. i have custom groups made up (offline groups and moble group as well)
2. currently i have to expand the list when someone is online in the group
3. when there is noone in the group i have to close it myself

What i want is something that would automaticly expand the group if someone in that group is online. and when there is no-one online in the group it should automticly close it.

i think this would be a handy program

why is it that you have to close them when there is no one in the group online? if there's no one online there shouldn't be anything really to close. keep it expanded... that way you don't need to open it if someone comes online.
