O.P. people not closing tags
[font=Impact][size=3][color=red][b][i][u][align=left]you are probably aware of people starting tags but not closing them.
Well, today, in the shower, i thaught of a clever idea.
When you submit the form, why not also run the function that happens when you click close tags?

RE: people not closing tags
that will only work if they use the buttons up the top to create the tags, but it sounds like a good idea

O.P. RE: people not closing tags
well thats what most people who do that use imo, because if they know enough about BBCode tags to do it without using the format bar, then they will know that that they have to close it

I think it a very good idea, and not too hard to implement for WDZ if he isn't lazy

RE: people not closing tags
True, this would be a good idea, although there is a CLOSE TAGS button, not many people use it.... hence the errors in the code

RE: people not closing tags
The easiest way would be to check the button status of each thing then apply each tag in order.
detecting each tag would be alot harder. anyway i dont support this idea people should just learn to close their tags!

The majority of people who don't close their tags, are the people who use the new thread link, and just think that the formatting bar at the top is something that just changes the format of the whole post, like MSN Messenger's default formatting.

RE: people not closing tags
Yea but what if some one is typing in the quick reply and forgot to close the tags ..... how'd that be possible then cause in that case there isnt a button that is clicked but actual text
You could search the posts for valid tags but if that is possible ... then it would slow posting times

well thats a different situation then, this is for the new people who dont understand bbcode properly, not for older people who have just made a mistake
