Intel processors have a heat-protection circuit, whereas AMDs don't. Then again, if your HSF is not fully secure on your processor, and you put it on yourself, you deserve to lose a CPU.
Obviously you don't if someone else didn't fit your HSF properly, or the catch breaks, but if the HSF does fall off, it'll hit your AGP/PCI cards as well. So it'll be expensive anyway.

so what i said was right? they shut down if they get too hot?

Could you tell us what you're intending on using the computer for?

Internet (2.2mbps) Games (a Bit0 And running programs I might be putting 2 monitors on it aswell.

Plus if you want to install lots of stuff then you will find 40gb might be a bit small.

I've already an ok graphics card+ I've got a 110gb Hd Which I'll be putting in
Oh and I'll be running AVG At the mo it slows my pc down alot! (when its scanning for viruses)
