For those of you who don't know, shoutcast is a music broadcasting server program. It sort of creates a server, and with another program, you can broadcast music onto it.

Now my problem is that it worked fine the other day. Worked perfect. I closed my computer, left for a day and a half, and I come back and it doesn't work. I start it, the window appears [its sort of the command window] and dissappears less than a second later. How to fix this? thanks.

is it still running in task mananger or closed completely?

If it is a command window that appears then its closing because of an error. Try running the program from within the command prompt this way you can get an idea of what the error is.

Start > run > cmd
at the prompt type the path of the file so like c:\program files\shout cast\shout.exe (not sure what the path is since i have never used it, it is just an example).

says some other process is using the port... port 8000-8001


how do I find out which one?

Nope. I get the error saying that it cant run due to the port being occupied, and it terminates. The processes list is proof of this. its a fatal error btw.

is icecastservice.exe the problem?

youcould try searching their forums for a similar problem
