nevertheless, advising someone to change something radical as the filesystem is not an answer you should give when just one feature of a program doesn't work. You indeed don't have to format your hard disk when going from FAT or FAT32 to NTFS, but you're advised by Microsoft to backup your data before you try to do it as there's always a chance something goes wrong in a procedure like that. So if something would go wrong you don't lose anything.
But changing the filesystem because a feature of a BETA doesn't work is a bit farsearched. You don't even know what filesystem she has.
