O.P. linux question
im think about putting linux on my spare computer. can ubuntu still receive my bridged internet connection? and am i going to have to have linux drivers for the ethernet card? or will linux automatically install them for me?

i use the DSL linux live cd.. you can use wireless and wired cards with it, it should be the same for more distros

key word LIVE CD. he wants something he can decently use on it, obviously. and yes, ubuntu will work fine on it, it comes with plenty of drivers.

yes, but if live cds have that function , it seems logic to me that if a simple live cd has it, another hdd distro will work on it.
