RE: NEED Messenger Plus HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!
When you download ("Save") Messenger plus! from http://www.msgplus.net only one file will be downloaded, that's the installer. So after you saved to your computer you can install Plus! by doubleclicking that file. Choosing "Open" will result in immediate installation of Plus! without the installer beeing saved on your computer (meaning you'll have to download again may you ever need it).

Edit: please don't doublepost, see Forum Rules, use the Edit button instead ;) Thank you :D

This can happen if there's a conflict with other software or when for some other reason Plus! won't hook.

First of all check if Msg Plus! truly is gone: check if C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3 folder is still there..if so then it's not gone and you can restart it by starting msgplus.exe through taskmanager (ctrl alt del > file > new task).

Next if you have Windows XP you can set Msg Plus! hooking to alternate mode:
- Plus > preferences > miscellaneous..under Messenger Plus! Automatic Recovery Options, set it to "Alternate".
- Reboot
- Start MSNM and check if it's still in alternate mode
- Ctrl alt del to go to taskmanager and in processeslist end msgplus.exe
- Now restart MSNM and see if Plus! appears in the menu, if so "alternate mode" is working fine.
- After checking you can remove Plus! from startuplist by going to: start > run ..type: msconfig <enter>, go to startuplist and uncheck MsgPlus (this step isn't really needed, if need be Plus! will switch to "Allternate" by itself, just check if it's still set to "Alternate" every now and then).

Alternate mode is only available in Windows 2000/XP. When you set hooking to "alternate" Messenger Plus! will be started when you start MSN Messenger (or Windows Messenger). Make sure you got no programs running preventing writing in the registry whilst setting it to "alternate mode" (an example of this sorta program is AdWatch, part of AdAware SE).

If you use another OS, try "default mode - forced".

You're welcome :D

In answer to your e-mail:
Those shortcuts come from the optional sponsor, to get rid of the optional sponsor:
- exit MSN and close your internetbrowser (full exit)
- go to add/remove programs
- select Messenger Plus
- Uninstall sponsor only
- follow instructions carefully

Note: if parts of the sponsorprogram have been deleted by ad/spyware removal program(s) you'll have to reinstall Plus! with sponsor again before uninstalling (this is to restore the uninstaller wich got cripled by ad/spyware removal program)

More detailed info about this can be found here ;)

P.S. If someone posted after your post it's ok to post a new post (in this case i posted a new post to show that this thread has been updated, it's ok to revive a thread like that after lets say a day)
