O.P. PLUS disappears.
Hi Guys & Girls :-)

IŽve installed the PLUS without sponsor. Actually, IŽve done it a couple of times - cause is seems to vanish, when I close my computer. When I turn it back on, IŽm left with the ordinary vers. 7.5

Does anyone have a suggestion about what to do?

Kind regards

RE: PLUS disappears.
Try Msg Plus! alternate hooking mode:
- Plus > preferences > miscellaneous..under Messenger Plus! Automatic Recovery Options, set it to "Alternate".
- Reboot
- Start MSNM and check if it's still in alternate mode
- Ctrl alt del to go to taskmanager and in processeslist end msgplus.exe
- Now restart MSNM and see if Plus! appears in the menu, if so "alternate mode" is working fine.
- After checking you can remove Plus! from startuplist by going to: start > run ..type: msconfig <enter>, go to startuplist and uncheck MsgPlus (this step isn't really needed, if need be Plus! will switch to "Allternate" by itself, just check if it's still set to "Alternate" every now and then).

Alternate mode is only available in Windows 2000/XP. When you set hooking to "alternate" Messenger Plus! will be started when you start MSN Messenger (or Windows Messenger). Make sure you got no programs running preventing writing in the registry whilst setting it to "alternate mode" (an example of this sorta program is AdWatch, part of AdAware SE).

P.S. Plus! probably isn't dissapearing/uninstalling, it's just not hooking..you can check by seeing if C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3 is still there. If still there you can start MsgPlus.exe through taskmanager (ctrl alt del) or by doubleclicking the file in that folder. You will need to restart MSN after that for it to take effect.

Could you just run one check. If you are on xp then please press ctrl+alt+del and goto processes and check if MsgPlus.exe is running :)

Hej John.

I got a "MSG+" map in the "program" folder; but I havenŽt got an MsgPlus.exe in the processlist at all.

Later in the evening IŽll try to reinstall once more - and try the alternate hooking mentioned above by another kind soul.

Will come back with stats.

No need to reinstall:
