O.P. Will Microsoft's Vista Delay Push Back 'Fiji'?
Windows Fiji

so what does everyone think?  will it push back the release of fiji?

IMO it will, will there be much point in buying Vista?  will fiji just be another Second Edition to Vista ? more than likely .

i have no idea any more :S

hadn't heard of fiji ever, heard of vienna though.

Seriously though what is going on with technology at the moment there seems to eb too many things going on in too many directions

64bit vs 32bit, vista/vienna/office 12, mac stuff etc

and most confusing thing to me is firefox builds, earlier today i saw some extensions saying compatible with versions 0.9 - 3.0,  3.0 wtf are tehy doing on 3.0 2.0 hasn't even been released to the public yet i'm just all confused by it all, meh thats my half asleep and confused anyway after watching 'thought provoking films' rant i think i need to sleep now, i'm not with it today *crashes out on keyboard*

i dont understand muyself with FF3.0alpha an 2.0alpha.. but my guess is that Maybe 3.0alpha is a ytest bed for 2.0 builds, im not sure, . -dt- may know more bout that, i no longer test them like i use to.

but for windows fiji, with all the reshuffles going on at Microsoft  something just sounds a bit wierd, wasnt long ago they were talking of Windows Blackcomb , now there on about Windows Fiji?. all i can think of is that there maybe putting out more releases to catchup to linux releases /techology that goes into those windows just gets left behind

ok ill explain the firefox names :P.

now Firefox 3.0 (was) the name for the trunk since thats what the trunk will fork off into , Firefox 2 was forked from the firefox  1.5 branch. Because someone dugg an article saying "firefox 3.0" was released there was a bug filed to rename the trunk for the time being .... its new name is "Mine field" so people understand its full of bugs (aka mines :P) ...

:P screenshot of the current trunk about window...

It said on that link you provided that microsoft is shooting to roll out a new windows server every 2 years "Vista" in 2007, "fiji" in 2008 (there not 2 years apart:S and  Vienna in 2010. I think this is really stupid bringing out different window severs every 2 years. I am just going to stick with xp and wait for "fiji".
