i said i've already tried restoring.

to before i installed windows live messenger.

does anyone at all have any ideas to why im suddenly starting to get this error?

as ive said msn was working fine with no problems at all before i restarted my comp.

did u install any software or remove any thing?

or did u install any wlm add-ins?? like leafplug or anything??

nope. pretty much all i did was

sunday - install windows live messenger. its working fine.
a few hours later i installed messenger plus live. its working fine.

today - i restart my computer. i get this error whenever i attempt to sign into msn.

tryin goin back to 7.5 and signin in and if it goes - remove that and try WLM again

I suggest you do a virusscan as this appears to be a trojan/virus.
