Yes, after a while using WML, the smilies stop showing, por example, y type and it does show in MY textbox area, but when i hit "Send" in the chat area it only appears as text

To solve this i have to close the conversation and open it again, and it sucks


Is there a way to fix this?

Im using WLM 8.0.0787 and ML!P 4.0.0.235

That is very strange. Does it work to begin with? Does it always start going wrong after the same length of time? Have you patched WLM at all?

I have detected the cause of the problem:


I was talking to my GF, after 1-2 hours, she sent me a Kiss (one of those winks that takes all of the monitor to show up and makes sound) and after that my emoticons didnt show up

I closed my conversation windows and i opened it again, she sent me another kiss and nothing happened, i was seeing my emoticons

So

The problem is that  AFTER several minutes or several typed lines, if somebody sends you a wink, the emoticons dont show up, i sent her a wink too, and she told me that suddenly she couldnt see emoticons


What can i do?

So what can i do ?

Invent a PC with infinite RAM? There's really nothing else you can do to be honest

You could argue that it's the hardware that is lacking... not enough memory for example.... but with 512MB installed and only using 128MB for Messenger I don't see why it would not be possible for messenger to display the emoticons...

I doubt this is hardware related. Although I must admit it does not compare to MSN 7.5 as for hardware requirements... but then again I suspect MSN8.0.0792 to have serious memory leaks (as was the case with 878)

I also have the same problem, but i doubt hardware is the source of problem. I have 2 gb of ram om my laptop! I think its the wlm thats have a problem. Im currently using 792 version with smallDP patch installed and msgplus live

Just because you have 512MB or 2GB of RAM, doesn't mean the system will let WLM use it all. Windows uses something called 'virtual memory', where every process 'thinks' it has 4GB, but in reality it has nothing like that. The system deals out the available RAM in as fair a manner as possible.

Given that a typical Windows XP PC can have 60 processes easily, it's no surprise WLM seems to run a little short after a while!

Stoop looking for solutions, i found one coz the thing that causes all this mess is Zone alarm Feature called IM Security.... thats all
