Have you clicked on "get help with sharing folders" yet?

Note: Sharing Folder can only be used on computers with NTFS formatted hard disks.

Troubleshoot Sharing Folders

Sharing Folders might not work for the following reasons:
  • You're logged in as a guest without privileges to send or receive files.
  • Windows Live Messenger was set up by someone who doesn't have administrator privileges and can't give access to other users.
  • You or your contact has a Messenger add-in that interferes with Sharing Folders.
  • You haven't installed a security update that you need to have to share folders.
If you're having trouble using Sharing Folders, do the following:
  • Make sure that you can send an instant message to your contact.
  • Try sharing with a different contact to see if the problem only affects only one contact.
  • Try sending a single file by using the conversation window.
Set your status to Online, and ask your contact to do the same.
  • Then, add a new test file to the sharing folder, and exit Messenger.
  • Restart Messenger, and then sign in again.

Q: Is it possible to convert a FAT32 Hard Drive to NTFS without losing all data on the drive? I like to change from FAT32 to NTFS, my operating system is Windows XP PRO, how can I do that? Without the lost of my programs?

A: Standard Windows utility that is called CONVERT serves this purpose

Just go to the Command Prompt and execute the command:

    C:\> CONVERT  C:  /fs:ntfs

Where C: is a name of the drive you want to convert.

After machine re-boot conversion process will start and you'll have your FAT32 converted to NTFS without of data loss.

Maybe that could help in converting.
