O.P. Am I right in saying??
My msn messenger stalls all the time at different time intervals. I have live and am running 4.01.0.240 version of plus. Am I right in saying that this version does stall (freeze) like it does with me or is it just me that it does it to?

Hope you understand what I'm getting at and I hope this already hasn't been dicussed on here! :$

Does it freeze/crash without Messenger Plus! Live?

Wait... you said your running MSN Messenger and Plus! Live 4.01.0.240?

MSN Messenger works with Messenger Plus! 3.xx
Windows Live Messenger works with Messenger Plus! Live 4.xx

What do you have?

Sorry for not explaining. I have Windows Live Messenger.

First of all I thought it was Messenger so I contacted them, I did what they told me but it didn't work.

Then I noticed that when I log in, it shows up the screen but then freezes for 30 seconds, and then comes to life just as my contact I have on my desktop shows up. Therefore I thought it must be plus...

It might just be an issue with Windows Live Messenger, I doubt Messenger Plus! Live will cause WLM to crash, try uninstalling Messenger Plus! Live first to see if it is in fact that which causes WLM to crash.

Take a close look to what is loading when...does it freeze/ remain unresponsive whilst the advert in contactlist is loading? Does it continue/respond right after the advert is loaded?

I myself experience the same thing on log on with WLM 8.1 beta, so this could be the same on the publicly released version of WLM 8.0.

Anyways as traxor already said: to make sure it is Plus! causing this, uninstall Plus! then see if the problem remains.

Sometimes my router causes this, it won't let msn open a port or something and it will stall.

Resetting my router always works when wlm freezes at start up.
