I have messenger live 7.5 (I think) with plus. Every 5 minutes or so, I get disconnected and it says "Your connection to Windows Live Messenger has been lost."

"Reconnecting..."

Anyone know what I can do? It is seriously annoying

try turning off your modem (and router, if applicable) and then turning it back on after a few minutes and see if it still happens.

I'd also disable all firewalls and see if that helps.

I've also had this problem for about a month now.  I've tried disconnecting the router.. opening up ports...reinstalling.  Nothing's worked.

OK what firewall are you both using?

I'm using Shaw Secure 2.0 as my firewall, just the one that comes from my internet provider, as well as just the regular Windows Firewall?  and also I'm on a D-link  DI-704p router.

I am also using Shaw Secure 2.0, I checked my Event Viewer and I found logs time-stamped matching when WLM Disconnects, and restarts.
I'm calling Shaw Tech Support, gonna be a 10 min wait.

It's either Firewall or Plus! issue but I thought I'd add my two bits.
